Jamie Carragher lays into Manchester United star Paul Pogba
Speaking on Monday Night Football (h/t Evening Standard), Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has urged Manchester United to rid themselves of Paul Pogba.
The French international is once again in the news for the wrong reasons. This is after his agent Mino Raiola came out with allegations that the player does not see a future for himself at Old Trafford.
While Gary Neville called for Pogba to set the record straight, Carragher’s reaction was much more intense and vicious.
The Liverpool legend believes United will do well to part ways with a player he feels is overrated. While Pogba’s talent is recognized, his inability to produce regularly does lend credence to Carragher’s assessment.
“Get rid, I’ve been saying this for 12 months – oh my God, the most overrated player I’ve ever seen in my life.”
The scouser went on to label both Raiola and Pogba a disgrace. He believes both of them are in cahoots with each other, failing which Pogba should sack his agent.
“Pogba will be well aware of what was going to come out of his mouth, and if he wasn’t, he should sack his agent.”
As yet, we are yet to hear a peep from Pogba regarding the series of events. This does appear to indicate him being in tow with Raiola.
Carragher also went on to add that United are keen to get rid of Pogba. However, given his current antics, he questioned which other top club would want him.
“I don’t know where he’s going to go – who’s going to have him? I don’t get it.”

It is quite ironical that such a strong reaction regarding a United player should come from a Liverpool legend. Regardless of prior allegiances, we have got to agree with Carragher here.
The timing of the revelations, ahead of a crunch Champions League game, shows that the player and his agent value their well being over that of the team and other players.
While there is nothing wrong in looking after one’s own self, it should not come at the cost of the team that you are a part of. It remains to be seen if there is a way back from this for Paul Pogba at Manchester United.
