According to MEN, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hit back at Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola.

The superagent opened a can of worms with his revelations that the French world cup winner is unhappy and does not see a future for himself at Old Trafford.

The comments coming on the eve of the key clash against RB Leipzig did little good for both the player and the club’s fortunes. With us having been knocked out, this could potentially be used by detractors as a stick to beat Pogba with.

Solskjaer insists that Pogba is committed to United’s cause despite Raiola’s comments otherwise.

“Paul is focused on doing his best for the team and when he’s here he’s working hard in training just needs to focus on his performances.”

The Norwegian also admitted that he will not ask Pogba if he is truly happy at the club. The midfielder was on the bench in our clash against Leipzig. To his credit, he came on and had a positive impact in the second half.

“You have to ask Paul if he is happy or not. I’m not going to speak for him.”

Solskjaer also went on to add that he is putting an end to discussions regarding Raiola. If only the superagent too had kept discussions behind closed doors.

“What we speak about in the background is something… I’m not gonna talk about Paul’s agent anymore.”

With United now out of the Champions League, Raiola could intensify efforts to take his client away from Old Trafford. Pogba’s deal at United runs out in 2022.

Raiola’s comments have not gone down well with both ex-players and rivals. While it is fine to express one’s unhappiness, airing dirty laundry in public is never the best solution.

What the future holds for United and Pogba remains to be seen.
