“Lacks class” – BBC pundit tears into Raiola for dropping a bombshell before Man United’s do-or-die game

Chris Sutton believes that Mino Raiola “lacks class”

Writing for the Daily Mail, former Premier League striker and current BBC pundit Chris Sutton believes that Mino Raiola lacks class for dropping “Pogba bombshell” before a do-or-die fixture this week.

Manchester United face RB Leipzig on Tuesday in matchday 5 of the UEFA Champions League group stages.

The Red Devils lost 3-1 to PSG at Old Trafford last week which saw them go 2nd in the group table, level on 9 points with PSG and German team RB Leipzig.

The Red Devils need to avoid defeat against Leipzig to go through to the UCL round of 16 and must better PSG’s result against Istanbul Besaksehir to top the group.

In the wake of such an important fixture, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been handed selection headaches, with two key forwards in Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani being unavailable for selection.

Writing about the duo’s absence from the squad on Tuesday, Chris Sutton believes it will be a big game for 19-year-old Mason Greenwood alongside Marcus Rashford.

“… this is a very big night for Greenwood. The 19-year-old opened the scoring in that 5-0 demolition in October. He burst between two Leipzig central defenders and found the far corner with a first-time, left-footed finish. That’s his big strength. One chance and he can do damage.”

Mino Raiola revealed on Monday that Pogba is unhappy at Manchester United.

Giving his views on Raiola’s comments about Paul Pogba wanting to leave the club, Sutton writes that it is a classless move from the player’s agent in the wake of a massive game for the club.

“It was remarkable to read quotes from Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola on the eve of this season-defining clash, declaring his client’s United career over. What a time to drop a bombshell when Solskjaer would want all of Pogba’s focus on the task at hand. It lacked class, and I hope we see a commanding performance from the Frenchman in midfield on Tuesday night.”

Pogba is expected to start in the heart of the Manchester United midfield tonight as United welcome the Bundesliga side to Old Trafford for a high-stakes group match.

United thrashed Leipzig 5-0 in the reverse fixture this season and a similar result would ensure our qualification from Group H as toppers.
