Team News: Manchester United squad update as the Red Devils prepare to take on Arsenal
Manchester United will take on Arsenal in the standout fixture of week 14 of the Premier League. We take a look at who is in and who is out for the Red Devils ahead of the titanic fixture.
The games between the two sides have often been feisty affairs. However, given their fall from grace in recent seasons, it does lack the gravitas of old. With Mikel Arteta slowly developing the Gunners and Ralf Rangnick now set for a revolution of his own, the future is looking up for both sides.
But for now, both teams will be seeking three points in order to boost their own chances of a top-four finish this season.

According to Manchester Evening News, Man United skipper Harry Maguire returns to contention after having served his one-game suspension. The Englishman’s inanity saw him get sent off against Watford, sabotaging his own side’s chances of a fightback.
The Red Devils also welcomed Mason Greenwood back into their squad against Chelsea after he recovered from Covid-19. He was an unused substitute at the Bridge and could be set for a bigger role against the Gunners.
Another striker who could be available against Arsenal is Edinson Cavani. The veteran Uruguayan is recovering from a tendon injury and remains in contention to feature. The chances of him coming off the bench is higher in likelihood in comparison to starting the game.

Paul Pogba continues to recover on the sidelines and is still some way away from returning. The Frenchman is in all likelihood unavailable until January. This will force Man United to negotiate a bust part of the season sans their best midfielder.
There is better news on Luke Shaw, who looks to be in contention for the game. The English international suffered a concussion against Villarreal and was replaced by Alex Telles against Chelsea.
Man United will also be without Raphael Varane who is recovering from a hamstring injury. The Frenchman’s absence has coincided with us becoming sixes and sevens at the back.

Despite some key names in the missing list, Man United have enough in their rank to see off Arsenal. With Michael Carrick still in charge, it remains to be seen what approach we take on the night. The Englishman will be looking to impress onlookers as this could be his last game in the dugout as a Man United manager with Ralf Rangnick all set to take over the role soon.
In the best-case scenario, a win against Arsenal will take us 6th in the table, if other results go our way as well. There is no reason why we can’t challenge for the top four and games such as this will go a long way in deciding who does and who does not make the UCL next season.
