Manchester United eye shock swoop for Kieran Trippier
According to The Telegraph, Manchester United are keeping tabs on Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bring in competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back. The 23-year-old is the undisputed first choice in his position at the club.
With the club lacking an able deputy, it would appear a move could be on the cards for Trippier.

The Englishman is an experienced player who is also adept at set-pieces. He spent a number of years at Burnley and Tottenham Hotspur and is well versed with the English game.
With over 100 appearances in the English top-flight, the 30-year-old is someone who can slot in immediately. Trippier moved to Spain in the summer of 2019 and has quickly established himself as a key player under Diego Simeone.
Solskjaer will however wait until the summer to make his move for the defender. With Trippier set to enter the final year of his deal in the summer, United could get him for a knockdown price.

Keeping up with the times
While Wan-Bissaka is defensively solid, his attacking output leaves much to be desired. Trippier meanwhile is a tour de force when it comes to attacking impetus and can offer us a different dimension going forward.
Full-backs have in recent years redefined their roles in the modern game. Rather than just focus on defending, they have started to take up attacking responsibilities.
Having already secured Alex Telles, securing a veteran in Trippier would be a smart addition.

While Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Brandon Williams are options we can consider at right-back, neither of them can be expected to seriously challenge Wan-Bissaka for the spot.
Bringing in a veteran such as Trippier could prove to be an astute short-term solution.
