Manchester United preparing a bumper new contract for Bruno Fernandes
Portuguese international Bruno Fernandes has been the best player at Manchester United since he signed for the club last January.
He has scored numerous goals and put in match-winning performances as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side consistently appears to overcome odds and succeed.
Fernandes has been an integral part of our success this year and it is only natural that the club will be keen to keep their talismanic game-winner for as long as possible.
According to the Metro, Manchester United are preparing a bumper new contract for Fernandes. It is expected to be significantly better than the four and a half year one he signed just this year.
Fernandes currently earns £100,000-a-week at the club. Fresh terms will see that amount doubled to a whopping £200,000-a-week. (h/t Metro)
Despite the potential eye-watering amount, Fernandes is nowhere close to the club’s top earner- David de Gea. The Spaniard rakes in £350,000-a-week while the enigmatic Paul Pogba takes home £300,000-a-week. (h/t Metro)
Despite not earning in the same bracket as either, Fernandes’ fresh deal represents a reflection of his improved stature within the squad.
It is fair to say that his impact on the club is visible in the way we appear to struggle in his absence. Fernandes came on as a substitute against West Ham and went on to make create eight chances in the second half, the most by any player this season. (h/t Express)
The midfielder is already indispensable to our squad. If he continues to develop, there is no reason why he cannot become our top earner in the future.
