Manchester United skipper, Bruno Fernandes shows his winning mentality following masterclass against Sheffield United

Manchester United finally put a win on the board as they beat Sheffield United 4-2 to move up to sixth on the Premier League table. United looked like they had a plan after a very long time tonight.

It seems like the prospect of losing his job has finally made Erik ten Hag start making tactical decisions. The Red Devils dominated 72% of the ball on their way to 25 shots tonight.

For major parts of the game, they looked like the better team. However, United being United they could’ve lost the game if Bruno Fernandes hadn’t come to the rescue. Here’s what he had to say after the conclusion of the match. Let’s have a look (h/t BBC)

“I’m really happy to score, but I want to win games more than score goals. It’s part of my role also, to score goals. But the main thing for me is winning games.”

Fernandes also said that now everything will be about the compactness that the team needs to have. The skipper was happy that his team was creating chances and Erik ten Hag would be as well.

After some truly poor weeks of football, Manchester United have finally put on a positive showing for the fans. It is also a good sign that Rasmus Hojlund finally ended his goal drought and can build form here.

It might be too early to say but it looks like things are coming together for Manchester United as their season draws to a close.
