Manchester United have set a deadline for the signing of an Everton star

As reported by Football Insider, Manchester United want to get an early deal done for Everton defender, Jarrad Branthwaite. It is expected that any deal surrounding the 21-year-old defender would cost somewhere in the neighbourhood of £60-70m.

Both Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans will be running out of contract in June. So the Red Devils will be losing out on a lot of defensive quality this summer, which makes the signing of Branthwaite that much more important.

Luckily for them, Everton might be forced into making a sale for the 21-year-old defender. If the Toffees sell Branthwaite before June 30 they can count the money from his sale towards the 23/24 season.

By selling Jarrad Branthwaite before June 30, Everton can avoid further point deductions by complying with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules. The timing couldn’t be better for the Red Devils.

The departure of Evans and Varane will open up a ton of room on Manchester United’s wage bill and just a fraction of that should be enough to draw up a new contract for Everton star, Jarrad Branthwaite.

But, The Red Devils aren’t the only team who have their eyes set on the English defender. Multiple top-flight clubs have been monitoring Branthwaite and believe he has the potential to be an excellent player in the future.
