PSG target Manchester United ace David de Gea to replace Keylor Navas
Manchester United star David de Gea came close to moving to Real Madrid in 2015. A series of mishaps saw the deal fall through and he ended up staying at Old Trafford.
Chilean Keylor Navas ended up taking over as the starter at the Santiago Bernabeu. He won three Champions League titles in five years before moving to Paris Saint Germain in 2019.
The two goalkeepers are once more directly involved ahead of the summer transfer window. According to The Sun, the Parisians are keen on replacing Navas with De Gea.
De Gea has been United’s first-choice goalkeeper for the past 10 years. With Dean Henderson now at the club, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a decision to make this summer.
The 23-year-old is keen to become the starting goalkeeper and has so far impressed when given the opportunity. The time may be ripe for United to pass the baton.
De Gea is United’s highest earner at a whopping £375,000-a-week. There are very few teams who can match that offer and the French champions are one of them. More so, they could also offer Untied a transfer fee for the 30-year-old.
PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to bring in a new goalkeeper. The Argentine is also considering Tottenham Hotspur star Hugo Lloris.
Not yet on the wane!
A world cup winner with France, Llrosi is now 34 and is not the player he once was. De Ge, on the other hand, still has a few years left in him and could be the ideal solution.
With the goalkeeping conundrum ahead of us, moving on De Gea makes sense both financially and on the field. Whether the club is willing to make that decision remains to be seen.
