Newcastle are planning on acquiring former Manchester United superstar just months after he departed from the club.
Newcastle are looking to bring in former Manchester United superstar David De Gea, as reported by ESPN. Just months after he walked away from the Red Devils, the Spanish goalkeeper could now return to the Premier League.
Fans were not happy when the Old Trafford management let David De Gea walk away. After his contract expired in the summer and the team couldn’t negotiate a new contract he was allowed to leave for free.
He was then replaced with a ‘new and modern’ goalkeeper Andre Onana. A move that the fans have not been happy about. They believe that it was disrespectful to let a club legend walk away like that.

The Spanish goalkeeper is currently a free agent. Newcastle United will likely not face any difficulties if they choose to pursue him and ink a deal in January. Moreover, De Gea also seems open to the idea.
During his time with Manchester United, David De Gea was regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world alongside his La Liga peer Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
During his 545 appearances for the Old Trafford squad, the 33-year-old managed to maintain a shocking 190 clean sheets (Transfermarkt). There were times when his skill at protecting the goal ended up winning games for Manchester United.

Newcastle United will be more than happy to get their hands on De Gea. However, It will break the hearts of many Manchester United fans to see their goalkeeper in a different jersey.
