As reported by Mail Online, former Manchester United superstar, David De Gea has been linked to a move to the Saudi Pro League. The Spanish goalkeeper left the team last year after his contract ran out.

Since then, the 33-year-old has been biding his time as a free agent. Al-Shahab is the Saudi Pro League team which is allegedly interested in the services of David De Gea.

The Spaniard will go down as an Old Trafford legend when his career is over. In 545 appearances for the club De Gea maintained a total of 190 clean sheets. His time at Old Trafford was so good that no one can question his quality as a goalkeeper.

However, Erik ten Hag sure did when he let him walk away for nothing. Moreover, the Dutchman tried to replace De Gea by signing Andre Onana for £47.2m and what a disaster he has been.

The Cameroonian goalkeeper has quickly found himself on the wrong end of some high-profile mistakes. Some of which have also played a part in Manchester United’s exit from the Champions League this season.

Surely one has to wonder whether the team would have been better with De Gea in goal. But, all talk is futile now as it appears that the Spanish goalkeeper will soon be putting on a display in the Saudi Pro League.

If Andre Onana needs to start acting like a £47.2m goalkeeper. If not, the team might pull the trigger and sell him this summer.
