Transfer News: Manchester United are still keen on a deal for Harry next summer
According to transfer news from ESPN correspondent Rob Dawson (h/t Express), Manchester United are still interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane.
Kane, who was touted for a move to Manchester City earlier this summer, remained at the North London club after the Citizens failed to match Daniel Levy’s £150million valuation of the player.
The 28-year-old has made it previously clear that he wants to leave Spurs in a bid to win trophies before his career ends. For all his good work, Kane has never managed to win a trophy at the London outfit, although he has reached a couple of Cup finals, including the UEFA Champions League final in 2019, where they lost to rivals, Liverpool.
However, it seems that United would also be interested in orchestrating a move for the Englishman next summer. ESPN correspondent Rob Dawson shed a little more light on United’s search for a striker next summer, saying (h/t Express):
“They registered an interest, along with Chelsea and City, when it became clear Kane wanted to leave Tottenham this summer… A striker will be among the top targets next year, and Kane remains on the list, even though they have brought Cristiano Ronaldo back.
“United have other options – namely, Haaland and Mbappe – but Manchester City and Real Madrid will also be looking for proven scorers.”

Thus, United could still be in the search for a striker next summer despite the fact that they signed club legend Cristiano Ronaldo this summer. The Portuguese’s addition to the ranks means that the Manchester-based club now have 7 players in the forward roles.
However, given that both Edinson Cavani and Jesse Lingard are in the final year of their contracts, there could be some room for the Old Trafford outfit to add Kane to this star-studded squad.
