Harry Kane reveals that his role model is a Manchester United legend
Harry Kane and Manchester United have been thrown around in the news a lot recently. Last season it was because the England captain was heavily regarded as the Red Devils’ next man up front.
Unfortunately, Erik ten Hag had to settle for Rasmus Hojlund as Kane went to chase glory and trophies at Bayern Munich. He has been in fine form in Germany scoring 28 goals in just 27 appearances.
His links to United also make more sense as he recently revealed his role model growing up during a conversation with BBC. The English captain, looked up to Old Trafford legend David Beckham growing up.
Let’s have a look at what Kane had to say about the situation (h/t The Daily Mail)
“I used to look up to players like David Beckham. Now I’m in that situation – there are a lot of young boys and girls looking up to me,”
Kane is not wrong about the latter, there is a whole generation of ballers who are now looking up to Harry Kane. His skills on the pitch will go on to inspire the next generation of ballers.
Fans now know why he wanted to play for Manchester United in the past. He could’ve even surpassed Beckham’s tallies at the club, who scored 85 goals and recorded 120 assists through 394 appearances.
Kane’s time at Tottenham would’ve been even better if he had been able to end it with a trophy. However, his time with Bayern Munich will likely prove to be more fruitful.
