Manchester United to award Kobbie Mainoo with a new contract

Manchester United are finally starting to show some urgency regarding their plans for the future. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils have already started talks with Kobbie Mainoo over a new contract.

The 18-year-old English national has been crucial to Erik ten Hag’s campaign this season. Over 16 appearances he has proved time and time again that the team can rely on him to be a consistent performer.

Moreover, Mainoo also had the best moment of his career recently during United’s game against the Wolves. The score was tied at 3-3 and a moment of brilliance from the 18-year-old allowed him to score a goal and give his team the lead.

If this is any indication of the player that Mainoo can grow to be, then the future is bright. However, whenever a new start starts to emerge the other sharks start circling the parent club.

The new contract that Manchester United have started to negotiate with the 18-year-old will come with an increased salary. Moreover, the Old Trafford squad can also be expected to include a ridiculous release clause in the deal.

Mainoo is considered to be a crucial part of United’s project. So, it does not come as a surprise that the team wants to lock him down for good.
