According to an interview done on the YouTube channel of UMM (h/t Manchester Evening News), Harry Maguire has talked about how he is looking forward to playing consistently alongside Manchester United star signing Raphael Varane.

One of the most astute additions made by any Premier League club this summer, United managed to get a deal over the line for Raphael Varane. The Frenchman is one of the most decorated players of all time in terms of his accolades.

The 28-year-old has achieved a lot in the sport, including 4 Champions League trophies, 3 La Liga titles, 4 UEFA Super Cups, 4 Club World Cups, and a World Cup. Thus, it is fair to say that he is a good addition to this United squad, and he could add a lot to the team.

The Frenchman is expected to partner Harry Maguire at the back, and the duo has already played a game together and have managed the club’s first clean sheet this season in the 0-1 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Maguire was asked recently in an interview with UMM about his views on the former Real Madrid man. The United skipper replied (h/t Manchester Evening News):

“Obviously it’s really exciting to get him at the club and to work alongside him. I think him coming in will bolster the defensive unit. We can learn off each other, we can push each other, and that’s what we want for the club. We want to keep more clean sheets, and the more competition the better.”

Varane has won 4 Champions Leagues and a World Cup so far in his career.
