Manchester United part owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is not happy with the club’s facilities
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS took control of Manchester United’s sporting operations earlier this year. The petrochemical billionaire promised to make big changes at the club and many believe he will take them back to their glory days.
Well, since his arrival things have started to get better. The team finally has some structure now. Omar Berrada has been appointed as CEO, Dan Ashworth could become Technical Director and Jason Wilcox will be taking the role of Sporting Director in the near future.
These are huge steps that will help the club start being competitive again. However, improvement is needed at another front and Sir Jim Ratcliffe may have identified the next wave of changes after his recent visit to Carrington.
The INEOS chief took a trip to the club’s training facilities and was not too impressed. The Athletic reports that he sent out an email shortly after his visit which described the state of the IT department as ‘a disgrace’.
In his eyes, the lockers for the U-18 and U-21 teams weren’t up to the standard either. Sir Jim Ratcliffe stated that these standards are not acceptable for INEOS and Manchester United. This must’ve come as a shock to the folks at Old Trafford.
While Ratcliffe will be making changes on the pitch it seems like he has already started to weed out problems from inside the club. His continuous perusal of improvements at every level will surely benefit United in the long run.
