Manchester United fans react as Paul Pogba impresses for France against Finland
Manchester United star Paul Pogba is a world-class player on his day and often steps up his game when representing France.
It was on display again yesterday night as the world champions defeated Finland as part of their campaign to qualify for the 2022 edition of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He was one of three United stars in the French lineup, the others namely Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial.
Pogba was clearly the standout of the three and helped Les Bleus gain a foothold in the midfield. He was everywhere on the pitch and was available to make a pass and win back possession.
He also made 17 ball recoveries on the night, the highest for France since he managed 18 all the way back in 2014. Pogba surely keeps himself in elite company.
All three United players appeared to be good nick and will have pleased Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Red Devils take on Newcastle United in the Premier League this weekend.
As long as Pogba keeps performing at a similar level, United have every reason to be optimistic about ending the season with a trophy or two.
