Former Manchester United star, Paul Pogba has been given a chance to play football despite 4-year ban
As reported by Italian outlet Tuttosport (h/t The Sun), Former Manchester United star, Paul Pogba is wanted by a Russian celebrity team called ‘Broke Boys’. Things have only gone downhill for the Frenchman ever since he left the Red Devils in 2022.
During his first season back at Juventus, Pogba made 10 appearances and only recorded one assist, he was sidelined for most of the season due to injuries. The second has been even worse, the Frenchman was found doping and is now banned for four years.
Pogba will be 34 by the time his ban ends. The Frenchman hasn’t been able to play a lot of football these past two years, if he sits out for four years his career would essentially be over.
However, Broke Boys have emerged as a saviour. Here’s what the Russian side’s chief had to say about the situation. (h/t The Sun)
“It may seem like a joke, we called him. But so far he has politely refused.”
“He is in a desperate moment and needs time to accept it,”
The Russian also made a mention of Pogba’s age. If the Frenchman doesn’t take up this offer he might not get to make a lot of money through football over the next four years. But is money and desperation good enough to take Pogba to Russia?
Political situation aside, the league that he would be playing in isn’t exactly the most competitive. The team is a part of the Russian Media Football League. All the teams in the division feature Russian actors and influencers.
However, Pogba still has some time before he makes a decision. He’s been handed a ban but the Frenchman plans on appealing the decision. If he wins the appeal he could very soon be back in action.
