A few years ago both Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera played a crucial role in the middle line of Manchester United. The Frenchman was supposed to be one of the best midfielders in the world and had all the fans backing him.

However, the six years that Pogba spent at Old Trafford left a lot to be desired. The French superstar didn’t even come close to realising his potential and was subjected to a lot of backlash from the fans.

Herrera however, has always had his back. Even after all these years, the Spanish national says that playing with Pogba was a pleasure and he was amazing during his time on top.

He has often accepted that Pogba had his ups and downs during his time with the Red Devils. However, he never fails to mention his good qualities that led him to believe that the Frenchman would be one of the best midfielders in the world.

Through 233 appearances for Manchester United, Pogba recorded 39 goals and 51 assists. While these numbers are impressive they’re nowhere close to what the fans wanted out of the Frenchman.

If the critics in Manchester weren’t so harsh Pogba might have ended up spending more time at Old Trafford. However, his leaving on a free transfer to join Juventus again was a fitting end to his disappointing spell.
