Facundo Pellistri and Manchester United looking for “best solution”
Manchester United and Facundo Pellistri are looking for the “best solution” to help with his development in the ongoing transfer window.
The Uruguay international looks set to part ways with the Red Devils this summer on a temporary move. With game time evidently limited at the Old Trafford side, it would seemingly be wise to send the youngster out on loan.
Speaking to the media via Manchester Evening News, the 21-year-old has already held discussions with Erik ten Hag and will evaluate the right options for him to grow further in his career.

“Yes, I have spoken to him and we are working together to find the best club, the best way, the best option. I am happy with that way because we are all in the same position.
“[I’m hoping] to play. In my position and at my age, what you want is to play. We are looking forward to find the best solution to do that.”
United signed Pellistri in the summer of 2020 from Penarol. Subsequently, the youngster featured in the Red Devils’ youth side before joining Deportivo Alaves on loan.
The Uruguayan spent 18 months on loan at the La Liga outfit. However, while the 20-year-old got regular minutes in Spain, he was unable to make much of an impact.
Last summer, Pellistri stayed at the Old Trafford side. Unfortunately, Ten Hag did not seem to count on him. Finally, the youngster was handed his competitive debut in January 2023 in the EFL quarter-finals as the Red Devils won 3-0 against Charlton Athletic.

Subsequently, the Uruguayan was handed a few more opportunities by the Dutch manager. The 21-year-old ended up making 10 appearances in all competitions for the Manchester-based club, providing one assist.
In our last pre-season fixture against Arsenal, Pellistri played around half an hour. But the Uruguayan only managed to get on the pitch due to Amad Diallo’s injury.

We arguably have better options than the former Penarol star in our ranks for now. The likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho are all at the gaffer’s disposal. Thus, a move away seems like the best option for the 21-year-old right now.
