Manchester United are prepared to lose another winger as La Liga outfit closes in on transfer

Manchester United could be losing another winger for their squad as La Liga club, Granada CF are now close to finalising a deal for Facundo Pellistri, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

The 22-year-old has not been able to make an impact for the Red Devils. Through 24 appearances for the first team, he has only recorded two assists. Which is a shame if you have a look at his promising stats for the U-21 team.

While playing for the Man United U-21 team, Pellistri has recorded three goals and one assist in just nine appearances. It seems like the player isn’t ready for the big leagues yet and needs more time to develop.

La Liga has been the optimal destination for Man United’s academy graduates. Mason Greenwood who is also playing in the Spanish League at the moment has been very impressive throughout his stint.

If Pellistri can show the same flashes of brilliance as his fellow academy graduate, he may still have a shot with the Manchester United first team.

However, now that the team is planning on offloading players, the Old Trafford management may include a buy clause in the Uruguayan winger’s loan agreement.

Instead of offloading a young player like Pellistri, the team should offload Antony who has been a disappointment and give the 22-year-old his place in the squad.

While Pellistri may not have as much experience as the Brazilian, his contributions this season have already surpassed Antony’s.
