Erik ten Hag wants to offload 11 Manchester United players to raise money for transfers this summer
According to the Mirror, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag wants to let go of as many as 11 players this summer to raise about £100m or more for transfers.
The report reveals that ten Hag wants to make some high-profile additions to the squad this summer. But for that to happen, the Dutchman is aware that quite a few players in the current squad need to be offloaded.
Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones’ contract at Old Trafford expires this summer, so they will leave the club. Eric Bailly, who was on loan at Marseille for the 2022/23 season, is now a subject of interest from Lazio and clubs from Saudi Arabia.
Dean Henderson is likely to leave the club with Nottingham Forest interested in a permanent deal, having had him on loan last season. David de Gea’s future is on the edge because his terms expire at the end of this month.
Both de Gea and United are at a stalemate regarding this new contract. It remains to be seen what happens in the coming days.
It would be great if Harry Maguire leaves as well having been dropped from the team by ten Hag. The former Leicester City defender hasn’t played much since getting dropped from the Liverpool game back in August 2022.
Among the potential incomings, United are still interested in Mason Mount. Chelsea have rejected three bids for the England international so far. Let’s see if the Red Devils can crack a deal in the coming days.
Ten Hag and his staff are also interested in bringing Inter Milan keeper Andre Onana. The Dutchman has worked with the Cameroon international when they were at Ajax.
