Getafe president confirms Manchester United’s stance on Mason Greenwood

Getafe President sheds light on Mason Greenwood’s future with Manchester United

There have been a ton of questions surrounding the future of out-of-favour Manchester United star, Mason Greenwood who is currently on loan at Getafe. The English forward has been stellar during his loan stint in Spain.

This season he has recorded 10 goals and six assists for Getafe in 32 appearances across all competitions. The Spanish side have been heavily relying on the young player for a sizeable contribution on offence.

His good performances have also prompted the question of whether Manchester United would like to continue with him past this season. The team could definitely use a forward as capable as Greenwood.

However, Getafe’s president has already confirmed that Manchester United will be looking to move on from Greenwood this summer. Here’s what Angel Torres had to say about him. (h/t The Guardian)

“if a good offer comes along, they would want to sell because he is not going to go back there.”

“We’ll have to wait until the end of June … the people and the coach are very happy with him.”

The president also stated that he would like Greenwood to play another season with Getafe. It is also interesting to imagine what the 22-year-old would look like in Manchester United’s current lineup.

The team often lacks that final pass in the final third of the pitch. Greenwood is an amazing facilitator and also scores a ton of goals. The Red Devils’ forward line would look much better with a player like Greenwood.
