UCL winning manager’s interest in taking up the Man United job could spell an end to Erik ten Hag’s era

As revealed by David Ornstein on the Back Pages podcast, UCL-winning boss, Thomas Tuchel is interested in working for Manchester United. The German coach is set to depart from Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

Right when Tuchel is about to be free for a job a vacancy looks set to open at Man United. Erik ten Hag has been at the helm and has led the Red Devils to an absolutely abysmal season across all fronts.

Man United currently sit eighth on the Premier League table and things are not looking good for the Dutchman. Here’s what else David Ornstein had to say about Thomas Tuchel’s interest in the Red Devils. (h/t Back Pages)

“When you’re looking at these candidates, or potential candidates, our understanding is that Thomas Tuchel does want that job if there’s a vacancy.”

Ornstein also suggested the likes of Graham Potter and Gareth Southgate for the job. However, he also added that he doesn’t know the confirmed list of candidates that Man United have to fill the hole.

Erik ten Hag’s future is still yet to be decided, the fact that there is a manager like Thomas Tuchel interested in the team could accelerate the impending decision. The German manager lifted the UCL during his time with Chelsea.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to bring the team back to their winning ways and Tuchel could be the man to do it for them. It’ll be interesting to see whether the links materialize into something concrete this summer.
