Juventus have set out an asking price for Manchester United and Chelsea target Dusan Vlahovic
As per Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Manchester Evening News), Juventus would demand something in the region of €80m for Manchester United and Chelsea target Dusan Vlahovic.
The Red Devils and rivals Chelsea are one of the several clubs that are interested in signing the Serbian international.
United are in the market for a striker this summer. They have already withdrawn their interest in Harry Kane due to cost issues. Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund and Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani are on their radar.
As good as a striker Vlahovic is, and he has shown his qualities while playing in a mediocre Juventus side, a price tag that high may deter United from converting their interest in the player into a transfer offer.
Had they wanted to spend €80m on a striker, they might have added a few more quid and looked to get Kane. Makes sense, right? There is no telling in the Serbia international (23) will be a hit in the Premier League as well.
One thing’s for certain that the club must sign a number nine this summer. Relying on Anthony Martial would be naive and putting all the responsibility of scoring on Marcus Rashford may weigh him down.
The price tag for Vlahovic means they are highly unlikely to go for the Serbian. Kane is already out of the equation. Is it between Hojlund and Kolo Muani now? Probably so.
Both are highly-skilled young strikers who boast good numbers for their respective clubs. Hojlund is more of number nine who can bully defenders with pace and physicality, while Kolo Muani has the pace and positional versatility to operate on the wing if required and hurt the opposition defence from wide areas.
