Dusan Vlahovic ‘likely’ to leave Juventus this summer amidst Manchester United links
Juventus are ‘likely’ to part ways with Dusan Vlahovic in the ongoing transfer window amidst links to Manchester United, according to 90min (h/t Manchester Evening News).
It looks like the Bianconeri are looking to get rid of the Serbia international after just 18 months in Turin. To that end, the Serie A giants will look to recoup the majority of the €70 million they spent to acquire the striker’s services in January 2022.
As things stand, Erik ten Hag is keen on adding a new number nine to the Red Devils’ ranks this summer. The Old Trafford side are one of the several teams who have had the 23-year-old on their radar in the past.
Valhovic made a name for himself at Fiorentina. The Serbian developed into a quality striker at the Florence-based club before Juventus came calling.
The forward was decent in the first few months in Turin. However, the 2022/23 campaign was a mixed bag for the 23-year-old. He struggled with fitness issues as well.
Last season, Vlahovic was unable to find the back of the net on a consistent basis. In 42 appearances in all competitions for the Bianconeri, the Serbian scored 14 goals and provided four assists.
At United, Marcus Rashford was the only reliable forward at Erik ten Hag’s disposal in his first year in charge. The England international was our talisman and shouldered the burden of our attack.
Unfortunately, the likes of Anthony Martial, Antony and Jadon Sancho were unable to contribute a considerable amount up front. Also, with the French national’s injury issues, we had to sign Wout Weghorst on loan as cover in the number nine position.
