Nottingham Forest want to sign Dean Henderson if given a green light by Manchester United
As per the Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest are keen on re-signing Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson this summer window.
Henderson spent the last season on loan at Forest. But his playing time was cut short following a thigh injury that eventually forced him to have surgery.
After struggling throughout the campaign, Steve Cooper’s men somehow managed to survive in the Premier League for another year.
They had former Real Madrid keeper Keylor Navas in goal for the business end of the season. The Costa Rican is now back with his parent club Paris-Saint Germain.
If United give the green light, the Nottingham-based club would like to sign Henderson in the current transfer window.
The Red Devils are looking to sign a goalkeeper of their own following David de Gea’s contract expiry. It seems highly unlikely that the latter will sign a new deal here.
Inter Milan’s Andre Onana is the club’s top target. The Cameroon international has the experience of working with Erik ten Hag before when they were at Ajax.
Coming back to Henderson, in the handful of opportunities he got in a United shirt, he struggled to move his feet around to make the saves and looked out of control wh
en asked to play out from the back.Hence, it would be right to sell the 26-year-old in the coming days. The focus should be to recoup as much money as possible from this sale and use that for making key signings, Onana being one of them hopefully.

The move would be right for Henderson as well because he is more or less guaranteed regular game time at Forest. Staying here and being in doubt about how much he would play will only set his career back.
