“I know my worth” – Erik ten Hag favourite not bothered by huge pricetag amidst his worrying Manchester United form

“I know my worth” says Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag’s favourite from Ajax.

Manchester United star, Antony has had a poor season but it seems like he is not the least bit bothered about his huge price tag. The Brazilian has made 36 appearances this season recording just three goals and two assists.

But, it is worth noting that his form in recent days has improved by quite a bit. He’s slowly getting comfortable and seems more comfortable on the pitch these days. Even during the last game against Burnley Antony was making a massive impact even before he scored his first Premier League goal of this season.

Now that he’s got one he should start to look more comfortable on the pitch. He surely is Erik ten Hag’s favourite and the manager has been calling on him again and again during these last few weeks. Here’s what Antony had to say about his price tag. (h/t The Athletic)

“It (the transfer fee) doesn’t really impact me because I know my worth, the money is the money and obviously everyone speaks about it but no one would if the performances of everyone and myself were at the top,”

The Brazilian added that he knows the critics will always be there but he uses them as motivation to work harder. Antony is determined to put in the work and continue to get better until he can justify his price tag.

He might not be worried about it but Manchester United will definitely be. The Old Trafford squad paid £85m for the player back in 2022. As of today, transfermarkt values Antony at €28m.

A massive drop-off that will not make United happy. Even if they try and move on from him they will likely not be able to make their money back. Their best bet is to give him a little more time at the club.

If Antony is putting the work in, he’s worth taking a chance on. Hopefully, United won’t try and rush him out of the club this summer.
