Borussia Dortmund drop interest in Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho
Manchester United star Jadon Sancho is no longer of interest to Borussia Dortmund in the ongoing transfer window, according to Bild (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Last week, the Bundesliga giants made an offer to sign the England international on loan from the Red Devils. However, the Old Trafford side rejected the proposal from the German outfit.
Now, the Signal Iduna Park side have withdrawn from the race to acquire the 23-year-old’s services this summer. Edin Terzic’s team have no intentions of re-signing the forward.
United signed Sancho in the summer of 2021 from Dortmund. At BVB, the English national had thrived and caught a lot of people’s attention. He had developed into a deadly attacker in Germany.
Unfortunately, the 23-year-old did not enjoy the best of debut seasons at the Old Trafford side. Subsequently, his confidence seems to have taken a hit and the forward was unable to make much of an impact in the previous campaign either.
As things stand, Sancho’s place in Erik ten Hag’s team is uncertain. The Dutch manager relied more on other attacking options last season rather than the former Dortmund attacker.
The 23-year-old made 41 appearances in all competitions in the 2022/23 term, scoring seven goals and providing three assists. While the gaffer gave him a lot of chances, the English national was unable to make the most of the opportunities.
In stark contrast, Alejandro Garnacho was able to make an impact whenever he was called upon by Ten Hag. The Argentine often brought energy and directness to the team when he was subbed in.

BVB is where Sancho thrived. Therefore, it would look like a wise move for the 23-year-old. However, it looks like the English national will not be going back to the Signal Iduna Park side anytime soon.
