Liverpool make €200 million offer to PSG for Manchester United-linked Kylian Mbappe
Premier League rivals Liverpool have made a €200 million offer to Paris Saint-Germain for Manchester United-linked Kylian Mbappe, according to El Chiringuito via Spanish outlet Sport.
The Merseyside outfit have made their move to acquire the France international’s services in the ongoing transfer window. As things stand, the forward is set to be a free agent next summer.
However, the Parisians have no intention of letting their talisman leave for nothing. Therefore, Nasser Al-Khelaifi prefers selling the 24-year-old to either the Anfield side or the Old Trafford side.
But Real Madrid are also in the race to get a hold of Mbappe’s signature and have already agreed to his arrival next summer. To that end, Los Blancos are calm about the prospect of Liverpool making a bid for the forward.
The French national is a generational talent. Therefore, it is understandable that the Merseyside outfit have put in such a huge offer despite the 24-year-old’s contract expiring in 12 months.
Jurgen Klopp’s team already have quality players in the attack. Mohamed Salah has been the Anfield side’s talisman for some time now. They also have Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo in their ranks.
On the other hand, at United, Erik ten Hag only has one natural striker at his disposal in Anthony Martial. Unfortunately, the 27-year-old’s multiple injury problems last season made him unreliable.
Therefore, the responsibility of finding the back of the net on a consistent basis fell upon Marcus Rashford. While the English national did admirably, towards the end of the previous campaign, his form dwindled.
