Manchester United are optimistic of striking an agreement that would seal the future of £73m Solskjaer signing

Man United are prepping to move on from £73m Solskjaer signing

As reported by Express, Manchester United are open to selling Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund this summer. The 24-year-old was a Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signing and cost the club £73m back in 2021.

However, Sancho largely failed to live up to his heavy price tag during his time at Old Trafford. The English winger has made 82 appearances for the club recording 12 goals and six assists. A huge drop compared to his numbers with his former club.

Amidst his performance struggles, Erik ten Hag and Sancho had a public falling out after the 24-year-old called him out on X. As a result, Sancho was axed from the first team and banished for four months.

Then came the 2024 January transfer window and the English winger was shipped back to his former club, Borussia Dortmund. Since his return, Jadon Sancho has come back to life and considers Dortmund to be his ‘home’.

Now, Man United are ready to cut their losses and move on from the English winger. It is being reported that Sir Jim Ratcliffe would be comfortable accepting a bid in the region of £45m for the 24-year-old.

So, Dortmund now have a decision to make. They can get their star player back and it would be a win-win situation for both sides. Moreover, it would help the Red Devils go after a replacement in the summer.
