The high cost has pulled Manchester United out of the transfer chase for Tottenham striker Harry Kane
As per the Guardian, Manchester United have pulled out of the transfer chase for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane due to cost issues.
The report reveals that United feel the money required to lure the 29-year-old England captain to Old Trafford is unrealistic.
The Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag, who made Kane his primary striker target for the summer window, is understandably disappointed that this deal won’t happen. The Dutchman also understands that the club cannot go past a certain limit just to sign a player.
Sky Sports reveals that United are making contacts with Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, while they are considering a potential move for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani.
Whatever it is, missing out on Kane should be considered a body blow to United’s transfer plans for the summer.
The Englishman has it all when we analyse modern-day number nines. He is great at finishing, can drop deep and create chances for the runners and uses his physical strength to hold off defenders in tight areas.
Hojlund and Kolo Muani are good strikers but definitely below compared to what Kane can produce. It remains to be seen if Ten Hag wants to sign either of them or have somebody else in mind.
The other part of the equation is that United cannot go past this window without signing a striker. Relying on inconsistent Anthony Martial and giving all the responsibility to Marcus Rashford won’t make sense.

The best part of the Kane transfer withdrawal is also that we are early into the summer window. There is a lot of time for United to gauge the possibilities of signing other targets and see which one best fits Ten Hag’s demands.
