Manchester United prepare a transfer bid for Chelsea target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Manchester United are set to bid for Barcelona forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to Gianluca Di Marzio (h/t Express) Chelsea are also in talks with the Blaugrana for the Gabonese striker.
Erik ten Hag wants a new centre-forward. The Red Devils are looking to bolster their forward line and the 33-year-old is someone the club have decided to launch an offer for.
Edinson Cavani parted ways with United at the end of last season. Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the club is also uncertain. The Portuguese has been looking for a move away from Manchester.
The Blues are leading the race so far. Thomas Tuchel has previously managed Aubameyang at Borussia Dortmund. However, the 33-year-old previously played for London rivals Arsenal.
United have to contend with Chelsea if they want to sign the Gabonese. The Stamford Bridge side boast Champions League football. On the other hand, the Red Devils failed to make the top four in the previous campaign.
Most of our current attacking options did not have the best of times in the 2021/22 season. Jadon Sancho signed from the Bundesliga. Fans had high hopes from the 22-year-old. However, the England international struggled to fit in the side.
Marcus Rashford had one of his worst seasons in a red shirt in the previous campaign. The 24-year-old failed to make an impact when he featured.
Anthony Martial left the club in January and spent half of the previous campaign on loan at Sevilla. The Frenchman has missed most of the 2022/23 season up until now due to injury.

Aubameyan struggled at Arsenal in the previous campaign. However, the 33-year-old has once again found his touch with Barcelona. It remains to be seen where the Gabonese plays his football at the end of deadline day.
