Erik ten Hag not interested in bringing Barcelona forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Manchester United

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is not interested in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to The Athletic (h/t Mirror). The Dutch manager is not keen on bringing the Gabonese to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils along with Premier League rivals Chelsea have been linked with a move for Aubameyang this summer. But it seems United won’t be going after the 33-year-old this summer.

The Manchester-based club appears to be in the market for a striker during the current transfer window. The side lacks depth up front and it’s an area that the club is looking to bolster.

Many names have been talked about, but none have arrived yet for any forward positions. United have managed three signings so far this summer. Tyrell Malacia was our first signing of the new era under Ten Hag.

Lisandro Martinez is another player we bought from our manager’s former club Ajax. The Argentine is a versatile defender capable of playing at centre-back, left-back, and the defensive midfield position.

Christian Eriksen is the only attack-minded signing United have made. But even the Denmark international is not necessarily a forward player, but rather a midfielder.

The Manchester-based club have focused on the defence, but every area of the pitch, including the attack, needed additions this summer. But the management have failed to provide adequate backups to Ten Hag.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s future is uncertain. Anthony Martial is out injured. Marcus Rashoford and Jadon Sancho haven’t been in the best of nicks. The Dutch manager started Eriksen as our centre-forward in the first game of the 2022/23 campaign against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Supporters see that there’s an evident crisis in United’s forward line. Aubameyang left Arsenal on a disappointing note. But the Gabonese has found his feet in Barcelona and has been back to scoring goals for the Blaugrana. The Red Devils could do with someone like him up front.
