Gary Neville slams Mino Raiola for his comments on Manchester United concerning Erling Haaland
Mino Raiola took a dig at Manchester United while speaking about the future of Erling Haaland, prompting Gary Neville to show his discontent. The striker is linked with a move to Old Trafford alongside several other clubs, having impressed at Borussia Dortmund.
Haaland has a release clause of £64million, which would be a pretty low cost for someone of his quality. The super-agent mentioned clubs like Barcelona, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich as the potential destinations for his client. Intriguingly, he conveyed how City had more Premier League titles than United.
Neville tweeted on his social media handle (h/t The Sun) and slammed Raiola for his comments on Man United. He was responding to a tweet from Fabrizio Romano, who quoted the interview of the agent with Sport1.
“I know we’ve been c**p recently but Mino Raiola has wiped out all United’s premier league titles in one foul swoop.”
Right Context
At first glance, it would seem that the club legend has all the right to be angry, but with the correct context, it tells us a different story. The quoted tweet from Romano did not mention how the 54-year-old agent was talking about the recent history.
It got cleared by journalist Patrick Berger, who interviewed Haaland’s agent when he replied to the former right-back’s tweet. However, it still does not give an excuse on why there was a need to mention us in the first place. He could still have got his point across without hitting at us, and for that reason, the comments made by the Red Devils legend is deserved in a way.

From the Norwegian striker’s agent’s comments, it is clear that we are not the first preference when it comes to a future destination. We already have a history with Raiola as he is also the agent of Paul Pogba. He has had a strained relationship with the Glazers and would often take swipes at the club when addressing matters related to Pogba.
We did not appreciate that at all, and this adds to it. Unfortunately, a quality forward like the 21-year-old is represented by someone like Raiola. Otherwise, we could have had more chances to land him.
