Transfer News: Manchester United has a strategy to sign Erling Haaland
According to Bild (h/t Sportwitness), Manchester United are ‘considering’ paying Erling Haaland’s €75m release clause in the following summer transfer window.
Erling Haaland, no doubt, is one of the players who can dominate the coming decade. With his rapid growth, he has attracted the eyes of most of the top European clubs.
Erling Haaland has 70 goals and 19 assists in 69 matches, making him one of the most consistent and lethal players in the past few seasons.
Manchester United already have Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani, 2 of the greatest strikers of this generation. An inclusion of Halland to the lineup can stir the Premier League’s balance, and they would clearly become one of the top demandants of the prestigious trophy.
However, it is believed that two crucial factors can prevent Manchester United from signing the Norwegian player. One of them is the presence of coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and the other one is the influence of super-agent Mino Raiola.
Mino Raiola has formed a personal bond with the players he represents in the past. He has a similar kind of bond with French star Paul Pogba. It is believed that the Dutch-Italian football agent ‘blames’ the Norwegian manager for the sudden demise of Paul Pogba’s form.
The infamous agent would play a significant role in where Haaland could play next as ‘ambition is more important than money’ for the agent.
But the good thing for United is that the former RB Salzburg player’s release clause will come into play in the following summer transfer window. Haaland has a €75m release clause which Manchester United are ‘considering’ to pay.
The recent injury of Haaland could give his incredible growth story a setback. It is believed that the hip flexor injury could impact his overall performance in the future.
