Cristiano Ronaldo sends message to Manchester United teammates after Norwich City victory

According to the player’s official Instagram account, as quoted by Manchester Evening NewsCristiano Ronaldo claimed that Manchester United took another step in the right direction after defeating Norwich City on Saturday night.

The Red Devils have been in good form since the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and they continued it on the weekend. The victory against Crystal Palace last Sunday could have been down to the ‘new manager bounce’ factor.

However, defeating Norwich last night displayed resilience in the ranks. Things were not going our way with the Canaries forcing the run of play against us. However, the best players deliver when we need them the most.

Ronaldo was brought down in the box 15 minutes from time. The referee pointed straight towards the penalty spot, and the Portuguese star scored emphatically, ensuring all three points for us on the night. The 36-year-old sent a message to his teammates after the game, via an Instagram post. It read, as quoted by Manchester Evening News:

“One more step in the right direction. We know what we want and what we have to do in order to get it. It is up to us! Well done, lads! Let’s go, Devils!”

Match-winner again and again

He did it again. The former Juventus and Real Madrid superstar delivered once more as he tucked away his 13th goal for us this season. However, the timing of his goals has been really important and crucial.

Ronaldo has scored six match-winning goals for us this term, and it is only December. Moreover, he did so under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Michael Carrick, and is continuing to do so under Ralf Rangnick.

There were questions about whether the centre-forward would suit the style of play employed by the German thinker. Although his goal was a penalty, the Portuguese international was pressing from the front and tracked back when his team needed him to.

More Manchester United News

There are no doubts about his potency and his dedication to the game. The 5-time Ballon d’Or winner has been at the top of this sport for more than a decade and is not slowing down any time soon. Ronaldo’s latest winner has now taken us level on points with West Ham, and if the striker continues this form, we could be sitting in the Top 4 by the end of 2021.
