Manchester United to battle FC Barcelona for RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo
According to El Nacional (h/t Barca Universal), Manchester United enter the race to sign highly talented RB Leipzig superstar Dani Olmo amidst interest from FC Barcelona. He has turned into a fine footballing specimen after graduating from La Masia, the infamous youth academy of Barcelona.
Following his move to Dinamo Zagreb from Barca in 2014, the midfielder has continued on his early promise and has left a mark at the Croatian club. He has scored 34 goals while having 28 assists from 124 appearances at Zagreb.
Having joined Leipzig last year, Olmo has not slowed in his development and has continued with his fine displays. He has netted 12 times while setting up 14 assists in 67 appearances for the Bundesliga side. He has gathered attention from other European clubs as a result.
It is said that the German club is open to selling him in January should the valuation of €55million be met. The Red Devils have made contact over a potential transfer in the future, and the price does not seem to be a hurdle.
However, the Spaniard is also a target for the Blaugrana, who looks to take advantage of their former connection. But, they are faced with a major challenge since the club is going through a financial crisis that is well documented in the football world.
Man Utd could be dealt with a blow since the Spain international is interested in making a return to his former club. At the same time, he is also open to a move to Manchester should the club convince him with their project.
