Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba could be ruled out with a thigh injury until the new year
According to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, Manchester United star Paul Pogba could be ruled out with a thigh injury until the new year. He picked up this issue while training with the France National squad recently.
The French international started the season on a high with the Red Devils but was struggling to maintain that same kind of form in the recent weeks. His campaign got even worse as he picked up a red card for a rash tackle on Naby Keita in their last Premier League fixture against Liverpool.
With the absence of the former Juventus midfielder, there has been a lot of pressure on Bruno Fernandes to make things happen in the middle of the pitch. The Red Devils have struggled to break down opponents in recent weeks and the news of Pogba’s injury has added more worries to their already mounting problems.
It is believed that top European clubs like Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Juventus were interested in the midfielder recently. This has led to a lot of uncertainty around his immediate future at the club however it is also thought that Pogba could be open to signing a contract extension with the Old Trafford outfit.
The French international made the switch to Man United with Jose Mourinho as manager. He had a roller coaster ride under the Portuguese manager and started to regather some of his old form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The 28-year-old has also developed a great partnership with Bruno in the middle of the pitch.
Injury issues have always been a pressing issue for Pogba through his time at Old Trafford. On his day the former Juventus player can pull the strings and provide those amazing lofted passes that can cut through opposition defences. It feels as though the Manchester-based club have lost that spark in recent times.
