Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on bringing West Ham United ace Declan Rice to Manchester United
According to 90min.com (h/t Express), Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on a move for West Ham United ace Declan Rice.
The Red Devils added handsomely to their squad this summer as they brought in the experience of Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton while they also got in one of the most exciting youngsters in world football in Jadon Sancho.
The huge bonus on deadline day, however, was the signing of club legend Cristiano Ronaldo, who is ageing like fine wine. While all these players are still settling into the team, it looks like Solskjaer has already planned his next move.
The move for a defensive midfielder is said to be on the wishlist of the Old Trafford outfit next summer, and the Norwegian boss is keen on bringing in West Ham star Declan Rice.
The 22-year-old has performed incredibly well for club and country in the past couple of seasons, and he has been a vital part of the East London outfit this season as well.
The youngster is contracted until 2024 with the Hammers, and any deal for United would require them to shell out £100million, thereby breaking their transfer record.

It is also understood that Rice’s representatives want the player’s future sorted out before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. However, this does not necessarily mean a transfer as West Ham are trying to tie down the Englishman to a new deal, especially one that will not have a release clause.
If Rice does end up signing an extension without a release clause, the Manchester-based club might have to spend a fortune to land the 22-year-old’s signature. Thus, if Solskjaer wants the midfielder at Old Trafford, the club’s representatives will need to put all their efforts into making this move possible.
