Manchester United target Franck Kessie keen to secure Premier League transfer

According to 90min (h/t Daily Mail), Manchester United target and AC Milan star, Franck Kessie is keen to move to the English Premier League when his contract at the San Siro expires at the end of the season.

The defensive midfielder has been one of the Italian giants’ best players and excelled in their top-four finish last season. While he is yet to repeat the same level of performance this time around, Kessie could have a pivotal role to play as the season wears on.

At 24, Kessie is nearing his prime and could be set for a new challenge. He is currently in the final months of his contract and is free to talk to foreign clubs from January.

According to the report, Kessie has rejected the latest offer from Milan and is now eyeing a move to the English top flight. He will not be short of suitors with Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United keeping tabs on his progress.

The Ivorian believes the English game is better suited to his style and could thrive at the right club. Interest in him is also present from elsewhere as Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have also been linked.

Milan, for their part, are keen to keep hold of the midfielder. Club legend and technical director Paolo Maldini has not given up hope of losing his star man and will hope to persuade Kessie into staying put.

The same can be said of manager Stefano Pioli who is keen for Kessie to extend his stay at the San Siro. A physically dominant player also good on the ball, Kessie impressed in the doubleheader against United in last season’s Europa League.

The Ivorian does have a few flaws in his game to iron out. But being able to land someone of his quality that too on a Bosman is a no brainer indeed.

Kessie and Amad Diallo were teammates in the Ivory Coast team that took part in this summer’s Olympics. They, however, ended up empty-handed after being eliminated by Spain in the quarter-final stage. Whether the duo will experience a reunion at Old Trafford remains to be seen.
