David de Gea believes Manchester United can fight for the big titles this season
Speaking to Sky Sports, David de Gea has claimed that Manchester United could compete for the biggest titles this season.
The Red Devils ploughed heavily in the transfer market this summer and signed the likes of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane before the start of the season. However, the jewel on top of this transfer business was the acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo, who sealed a return to Old Trafford on deadline day.
While Sancho is yet to kick on, former Real Madrid teammates Varane & Ronaldo have already made a place for themselves in the starting lineup. Additionally, the squad also has other brilliant players.
Paul Pogba currently has 7 assists in 5 Premier League games, while Bruno Fernandes has not lost a beat since last season. Luke Shaw also looks threatening in the full-back role while Mason Greenwood has been in incredible form.
David de Gea, who was the penalty hero for United against West Ham last weekend, believes his side now have the tools to win the big titles this season. He told Sky Sports:
“We signed good players [in the summer], and we already had a good squad. We are there at the top of the league fighting for every game, of course, it is hard, it is the best league in the world.
“Every game is difficult, we want to fight for the big trophies, try to fight for the Premier League, the Champions League, for everything, and I think we have the squad and the players, and we have the fans with us so it’s amazing. I think the club is in a good point.”

The Red Devils currently sit level on points with Liverpool and Chelsea at the top of the Premier League table. Given the depth in their ranks, the Old Trafford outfit could surely rake in some silverware this season.
