Transfer news: Juventus are not eyeing a move for Manchester United ace Paul Pogba
Speaking in an interview (h/t Tribal Football), Juventus sporting director Federico Cherubini has ruled out a move for Manchester United star Paul Pogba.
Pogba, whose current deal expires in 2022, is yet to agree an extension with the Red Devils. If an agreement cannot be reached between all the concerned parties, the 28-year-old could leave on a free transfer at the end of this season.
In fact, if the Old Trafford outfit fail to get Pogba to put pen to paper on a new deal before January, the Frenchman will be eligible to talk to overseas clubs regarding a pre-contract agreement.
However, one club that have ruled themselves out of the running already are Pogba’s former team Juventus. The 28-year-old was an academy graduate at United but made the move to Turin as a youngster. The midfielder made 178 appearances for the Serie A outfit and scored 34 goals and provided 40 assists in the process.
The Italian club are, however, not interested in a deal that will see the player return to the Allianz Stadium. Juventus’ sporting director Federico Cherubini made the club’s intentions clear about a potential move for the French international, stating that they are interested in ‘another type of player’. He said (h/t Tribal Football):
“On the market we will look for players like Haaland before the final maturity. Any investment will go in the direction of a young profile. I plan to bet on another type of player.”

Thus, with the Serie A club looking for investment in younger players, a move for Pogba might not be on the cards.
However, Real Madrid & PSG have previously been keen on a move for the midfielder, but it remains to be seen whether the Frenchman stays at Old Trafford or seeks a move away from the club come next summer.
