Yves Bissouma reveals why he did not join Manchester United this summer
According to The Metro, Manchester United target, Yves Bissouma has revealed why he chose to stay on at Brighton and Hove Albion this summer.
The midfielder is steadily emerging as one of the best players in the Premier League. He has already attracted attention from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool apart from United.
Bissouma has led Brighton to four wins in their first five games so far. The Seagulls are currently occupying a top-four spot, something considered unfathomable just weeks ago.
According to the report, Bissouma admits the time was not right for him to say goodbye to the Amex Stadium. The Mali international is steadily progressing up the ranks as one of the most dependable midfielders in the league.
“I didn’t go this summer, maybe its because it’s not my time to go.”
At 25, Bissouma is at the appropriate age to make the next big move in his career. Staying on at the Amex will help him build his game further and the midfielder did not completely rule out a move away from Brighton in the future.
“When my time will come, it’s my time, but I’m happy in Brighton, I’m enjoying playing football.”
Bissouma, however, has his eyes set on experiencing Champions League football. Brighton, for their part, are not a side that can get him what he craves. United can and it remains to be seen if Old Trafford will be his final destination.
“My dream is like every player, I want to play in the Champions League, I want to be champions. I want to compare myself on the top level, not just with other players.”

Bissouma is a neat player who would have fit in well at Old Trafford. The Red Devils midfield lacks dynamism and could get worse should Paul Pogba leave next summer. Whether the Frenchman’s potential exit will lay the foundations for us to move for Bissouma remains to be seen.
