Transfer News: Youri Tielemans open to Manchester United switch
According to Mundo Deportivo (h/t The Boot Room), Youri Tielemans is open to the idea of moving to Manchester United.
Youri Tielemans has been a dependable name at Leicester ever since he came to the club in 2019. The Belgian was fetched for a club-record transfer fee of £40million from AS Monaco.
It was reported by Fabrizio Romano (h/t The Sun) that there are a host of top clubs that are interested in securing the services of Tielemans, including Manchester United.
The Foxes have slapped a £70 million asking price for the midfielder. The 24-year-old has scored 18 goals and provided 19 assists in 112 appearances for Leicester across all competitions. His screamer against Chelsea in the FA Cup final of 2020-21 is one of his most important strikes for the club.
This price tag could significantly reduce as the Tielemans would be entering the last 12 months of his deal in the upcoming summer transfer window. And, Manchester United have been handed a boost as the Belgian international could be open to making the switch to Old Trafford.
Reports suggest that the star midfielder is keeping his options open as there is no new deal yet. The Belgian midfielder could be a potential replacement at Manchester United if Paul Pogba were to leave Old Trafford. Many of the top clubs like Real Madrid and PSG are interested in signing the French international. And Tielemans could become a key component if Pogba were to leave the Red Devils.
