Manchester United and Arsenal could butt heads for Girona star

As reported by Give Me Sport, Manchester United and Arsenal are both looking to get the signature of Girona star, Miguel Gutierrez this summer. The Spanish left-back would solve a world of problems for Erik ten Hag and his team.

Guiterezz has been having an impressive season, he has made 35 appearances recording one goal and eight assists for his team. He has played a key role in Girona’s bid for a top-three spot in the La Liga this season.

The 22-year-old has excellent technique and can easily penetrate most defensive lines. While his finishing leaves a lot to be desired Guiterezz makes up for it with his excellent playmaking. Manchester United are in desperate need of a player like him in the lineup.

He’s proficient on offence and also does a good job on defence. Currently, Luke Shaw is the first-choice left-back for the Red Devils. However, the 28-year-old star can’t always be depended on due to his recurring injuries.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is currently playing at LB while Shaw is out and he has been doing a fine job. However, even he struggles with injuries which leaves Ten Hag with a depleted squad most of the time.

Signing a player like Guiterrez would go a long way for Manchester United, this double injury problem gives the team all the more reason to swoop in. But, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team will have to show urgency since Arsenal also hold a keen interest.

There is also Real Madrid’s buy-back clause to consider when speaking about a deal for Guiterezz. So while both Manchester United and Arsenal will be going after the 22-year-old, signing him might be a complicated affair.
