Transfer News: Real Madrid ready to sell Manchester United target Raphael Varane
According to transfer news from Express, Real Madrid are ready to sell Raphael Varane who is a target for Manchester United. The Spanish side will cash in on the defender if he does not renew his contract with them.
Varane was a subject of interest from Sir Alex Ferguson around 10 years ago. But he has now become a world-class star at Real Madrid. He is arguably at his peak right now. Signing Varane would be a massive statement by Manchester United indeed.
The Red Devils are in need of a new defender and have identified the French international as a priority signing. Marry Maguire has been a success at United but lacks an adequate partner to shore up the defence. Lindelof and Bailly have been mediocre at best.
Real will sell Varane if he does not commit to a new deal
With his contract set to expire season year, Real too have a decision to make this summer. They have reportedly taken one. It is to sell him for around £60m if he decides to not renew his existing deal.
The Blancos recently signed David Alaba and want to sort out the futures of Sergio Ramos and Varane.
With time slowly running out on his current deal, United are getting more and more hopeful of getting him. He would absolutely solidify our centre-back department. If anything, Varane has shown over the years that he is a world-class defender.

He has won multiple titles at Real Madrid and is a World Cup winner with France. If the opportunity is there to sign a top player like Raphael Varane, Manchester United would be wise to take it.
