ESPN reports that Man United have been dealt further injury blows at the back, with Raphaël Varane set to be on the sidelines for weeks due to a muscle injury and Jonny Evans set to at least miss the trip to the south coast as Bournemouth host United on Saturday.

The two veterans came off injured during the Red Devils’ clash against Chelsea last week.

Varane and Evans join fellow centre-backs Victor Lindelöf and Lisandro Martínez on the list of currently injured players.

This new injury blows further exacerbate what has already been an injury-ridden season for Erik ten Hag’s side, further diminishing their already slim chances of making a late top-four push.

Crawl to the finish

United need to investigate internally the cases of recurrent injuries that have surfaced this season.

With someone like Luke Shaw, it’s understandable, but when recurring issues pop up all over the place, it’s worth looking at the common denominator. United’s medical maladies, after all, have been a subject of concern for a fair few years.

More Manchester United News-

For now, neither Ten Hag nor the club can do much apart from making do with what they have. The Dutchman has already stated that he might put Casemiro in the back four to plug the gaps. Also, expect Willy Kambwala to get more chances to establish himself in the first team.
