Gary Neville blasts ‘boring’ Manchester United following Crystal Palace draw

Speaking on Sky Sports (h/t Evening Standard), club legend Gary Neville has not held back any punches in his assessment of Manchester United against Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils put in an abject showing and had just one shot on goal all match. The players also looked tired and their body language did not inspire confidence.

The draw leaves us further behind Manchester City with a mountain to climb in the title race. With both teams set to take on each other next weekend, United’s title charge may be coming to a premature end.

“They looked lethargic and well off it, their body language looked really drained.”

Gary Neville left unimpressed by boring Manchester United

Neville was not a fan of United’s tactics and has gone on to label them as ‘boring’. Surely as someone keen to advance the United way, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must be doing much better.

“It doesn’t matter who’s in charge, you can’t be boring and that was boring tonight.”

Failing to take the initiative!

Ever since going top in January, United have lacked the cutting edge needed to see out games. While the title may be a bridge too far, poor performances could see us struggle to hold onto the top four.

“They are sleepwalking in games. They are going to end up in a top-four race if they are not careful.”

Manchester Untied were lethargic against Palace

Neville is dissapointed that Untied could not see out the game against a side such as Palace. The inability to beat lower half side will only boost the confidence of those behind us that we can be caught.

“I thought they’d cement second place by picking up points at places like Crystal Palace. Now Liverpool and Chelsea will think they are in with a right chance.”

United next take on Manchester City at the weekend. Pep Guardiola’s side are on a 21-game winning run and will be up for the game.

Solskjaer needs his side to step up and ensure his side are up for the game. Questions regarding his ability will arise until he manages to turn things around.
