Gary Neville blames Manchester United owners for the poor state of the club
Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville clearly has a bone to pick with the club’s owners. He was once again in the news as he called the Glazers out for their ‘negligent’ behavior towards Old Trafford.
The Red Devils’ home ground used to be a fortress. However, it has drastically deteriorated over the past decade or so with the Glazers at the helm. Let’s have a look at what Neville had to say about the situation while talking to Sky Bet. (h/t Manchester Evening News)
“I think the Glazers have been negligent in the past 10 years in not appointing the right people.”
Neville didn’t just stop here he went on to say that the Glazers were generating too much money to not have a CEO or a sporting director. The poor state that Manchester United is in could be largely blamed on the Glazers.
However, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team have promised better days for the Red Devils. The INEOS chief has already made plans to renovate Old Trafford. It seems like he wants the century-old stadium to be better than ever.
Moreover, he has already started to bring structure to the club. Manchester United recently signed Omar Berrada to be their new CEO. After stealing him from Man City the team has also been going after Dan Ashworth.
Plans to restore the club to its former glory are already underway. With a little bit of time, Manchester United should be back where they belong.
